Do you mean his brother Henry?
Looking at Robert's baptism one of the witness is a Henry Thomas the other May Thomas, if John Thomas was said to be Protestant why would some of his family be witness to a RC baptism.

Each one of these records needs to be carefully looked at.

Roberts brother Henry would have been about 6 yrs old at that time so it's probably a brother of the father.

In repy #6 you said 'her brother', I was just checking you meant his brother as in John Thomas' brother.

It's looking like the Thomas family were RC but maybe John was covering all bases by getting the children baptised in both faiths or maybe he had a falling out with the priest at some point and converted but still allowed the children to be also baptised RC to please his wife and family.

Hi all,
I sent a PM to Dathai yesterday that I was going to join Ancestry again.
I have re joined today.
I just looked at the names of the Thomas and Anderson family. There are a few repeats in the records, going from one site to another picking up every record.
I will go through these as some are Cath and Catherine etc. There is 19 altogether. I will be back soon.

Missing Hencuris
I think High St. is St.Nicholas', looking at the old maps there is a ruin St.Nicholas at the end of High St.

No St.Bartholomew's on Ancestry is there?

Sorry had to go out.
Henrieus Thomas
Birth    6 Jan 1856
Baptism    16 Jan 1856
St Nicholas' (Without), Dublin city, Dublin, Ireland
6 Gt ship St
Francis St., St. Nicholas (without), Francis Street
Joannes Thomas
Catharine Anderson

There are other Thomas children born to an Anderson Mother but in Fermoy County Cork.

I have searched the family trees and have sent a message to a Private Tree who has Ellen 1864, but no mention of the parents. As soon as I hear from them I will let you know.
Sorry again for the delay.
