William Fletcher
« on: Thursday 29 June 17 14:09 BST (UK) »
Am looking for any information for a William Fletcher born in Dromore, Co. Down in the mid 1700s.
He had a son named Patrick Fletcher who was born about 1770.
I would be pleased to have any information.
Thanks - Jenn

could your Fletcher be connected after 1744 with this Fletcher below from http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/F/Fl.htm#flRev.
Thomas   FLETCHER   M.A.   Down & Dromore   Dean of Down in Downpatrick in 1739 & Church of Ireland Bishop of Dromore in 1744   DAIPC p8; WMO

or in 1796 Flax Grower in Ireland
Fletcher          Rev. Mr. ???         Drumballyroney                  Down

or the several in mid to late 1700s in Familysearch.org

Thank you so much for your interest in my query regarding William Fletcher.
Have looked at your suggestions but unfortunately they do not match up with my family.
I now know William was a shoemaker.
Patrick joined the Army and after discharge ended up in Liverpool. He married and his wife was called Prudence.
