Carte for dating - mother, four children and half a father!
« on: Thursday 29 June 17 16:36 BST (UK) »
For some reason Mr Gibson saw fit to chop the father (at least that's who I assume it was) in half on this otherwise delightful CdV.
The baby must have stayed very still, as he/she is nicely in focus.
I'd love to have a date for this one please?

Early - mid 1870's.
A bit odd to have requested an oval frame when the pose is as broad as this.
It may be the photo was taken & they changed their minds & asked for it in an oval frame otherwise the photographer would have put dad closer in.
Either that or he was a rubbish photographer.

Thanks Jim.
I have got a lot of Gibson photos, but this is the only one in an oval.
Perhaps there's another photo lurking around showing the entire family  :D

Jen, hope you don't mind. I was casting about for something to satisfy my craving, and thought this photo could do with a make-over. Cheers, Peter.

McGroger I owe you a big apology for failing to thank you for doing this - there's no excuse, I simply forgot to reply  :-[  I've printed this off to keep with the original truncated family  ;D Thanks again.
