The records are not online.

http://www.priaulxlibrary.co.uk should be able to help if you get no further replies on here.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

There is an online tree that records William Henry Wright as being born 25 Oct 1879, Leicester.

It would appear that Henry and Elsie May are living in Leicester on the 1911 -

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X756-M1R

In 1906 they have a son William Henry and daughter Elsie May born 1908 (source GRO, MMN Palmer).

I was hoping the above information would lead to a birth record for William but as yet it hasn't  ???

JJ

Thank you for such a prompt reply :)
It is probably the tree I am working on where you saw Williams dob, which I obtained from the 1939 register. The marriage details I obtained from his army records along with his mothers
christen name (Annie) which ties up with the 1881 census where Annie is a widow and William 11. I also cannot find his birth records which leaves me with the only chance of finding out his father from his marriage records. Unfortunately, as he married in Guernsey I am at a dead end as there is no online access to Guernsey BMD's online apart from LDS and they have nothing on his marriage  ::)

Suggest a look at Jerripedia. That is a Jersey-related site and there is an associated Guernsey site (may be called Donkipedia).
