Catherine died 5.11.1877 according to post - that burial was October 1877.  However - see freebmd entry

December qtr 1877
Catherine McClen aged    47    Durham    10a   201

No other entry in the Dec qtr 1877 so death date of 5.11.1877 cannot be correct

point taken, it does seem to be a tad previous for a burial :-)

As you say there is  only one Catherine Mclen/Mclean in the GRO deaths index for anywhere in Durham 1877 and that has an age at death of 47 . This was the only burial I could find that was a possible - though its a transcription only and I haven't seen the original.
The 1871 census quoted, when I look at the images, says Ecclesiastical District of St Giles, Belmont and the age on the burial transcript/ GRO index, though not totally consistent to that on the census, is within a couple of years. The 1881 census for her husband and children has an address of Bell's Villa - which is another reason to put this burial into the 'possible' category.

If squatt has a death cert with 5th Nov on as the d.o.d. then its not the right burial / or the burial date may have been mistranscribed.  I do think its a possible and would want to see IF the original register gives any more detail.

If there is an LDS family history centre near to where squatt lives, the digital image can be seen on their computers there.

Hello thanks for all the hard work people, I do have the death certificate so the date should be correct as that's where I got all the dates from, she did die quite young and here husband was John mclen sometimes Mclenn, Maklen, and even harker.

Any ideas on possible church yards yet

Regards

what is the actual date of death on the cert?
There will be two dates, one when she actually died and one when the death was registered. If the actual date of death is in October (as Alan says from the copy cert on someone's tree) then that burial record I posted from the Chapelry of Belmont looks like the right one.

The oct burial date in the previous post re family search site could refer to the quarter rather than the actual month

The burial date has been transcribed from the parish register, the registers use actual dates of the event and don't use quarter and year like the GRO do.
