Good evening, I am in a bit of a pickle.  My friend Les - who was a professional football player along with his brother Albert for Chester then moved to Blackpool to play.  Les has asked me to look up his tree and I have only got as far back as Daniel Harley born Manchester 1811 he married Ann ? who was from Sleaford, Lincolnshire.  They had 7 children (if I'm correct) all born in Wolverhampton, the first was Ann born 1841 and the last was Henry born 1856. Leslie & Albert both are from Henry who married Sarah Neat in Wolverhampton 1877, had 13 children one was George Henry who married Charlotte Keay, they had 2 sons one being Leslie Douglas Henry Harley who married Elsie Newell & they had Albert 1940-1993 & Leslie.  Leslie has asked me to trace his tree he has read this request and is ok with the information I have provided and asked for.  If anyone can help in any way we would be really grateful

Checking the GRO Search facility, which shows mother's maiden names, we have:

HARLEY, ANN        RUSSELL

I have searched but cannot help you go back further with Daniel Harley.  However, I did find his burial which I thought I would post in case you didn't have it.

Merridale Cemetery, Wolverhampton.
HARLEY, Daniel, 55 years, burial 15 Apr 1866, abode Wheelers Fold, St.Peter, Gas fitter, Grave 426, Reg. No. G2/04593.
