Gravenor boys from South Wales

This is a holiday snap of a group of brothers in (I believe) 1920s. It includes my late grandfather. Is there anything that can be done to restore a photo that has been so badly treated? Thank you!

Just seen these wonderful new restorations ...
It is an unusual background isn't it Pat (Trishanne) - I can't help feeling it must have made restoration work even more challenging!
Thanks stsearcher - it is a great photo of the lads - I have very few of my grandfather so it's especially precious!
