Had a quick look and the only Margaret and Louisa POWELL's born around the right time in the Birmingham area to match the 1901 census have different mother's maiden names (Margaret b 1898 mmn COLEY and Louisa b 1901 mmn BURTON).

I suspect this could be the right family, but ages are very odd.  ??? Still looking for a marriage ...

Still looking for a marriage, however I think this may be Caroline - birth registered Oct qtr 1862 Birmingham, mmn SHAW. Baptism 9 Nov 1862 at ST CHad, Birmingham Father: Gulielmi FOXALL (William), Mother: Elizabeth Shaw FOXALL.

I think she is a pauper on the 1871 at Wolverhampton (GBC/1871/2941/0313)

Thanks for your help Maddys52 and Jomot
I seem to have unearthed more questions than answers!  Any additional help or matching up would be really appreciated.  Hope to hear any further finds and finally some answers! :-)

Hi
I have information that confirms John was definitely alive after 1911 as one of his daughters (Louisa) got married in 1916 and he is not listed as deceased. Likewise one of his other daughters (Margaret) who married in 1904 he is not listed as deceased. On these 2 marriages and another son's marriage (John) in 1909 he is working as a Caster as his occupation.

Just to say that there was no requirement to state whether the father was living or dead, so the lack of the word 'deceased' doesn't necessarily mean he was still alive - not that we can find him either way!

I don't suppose there were any helpful witness names on any of these marriages?
MORGAN: Glamorgan, Durham, Ohio. DAVIS/DAVIES/DAVID: Glamorgan, Ohio.  GIBSON: Leicestershire, Durham, North Yorkshire.  RAIN/RAINE: Cumberland.  TAYLOR: North Yorks. BOURDAS: North Yorks. JEFFREYS: Worcestershire & Northumberland. FORBES: Berwickshire, CHEESMOND: Durham/Northumberland. WINTER: Durham/Northumberland. SNOWBALL: Durham.

Yes I know what you mean and that had crossed my mind. But all 3 of the children's marriages between 1904 and 1916 have him alive shall we say.
Also no witnesses of any note to assist either  :'(

Hi Phil, just wondering if you found any other info on John and Caroline? We too are stuck at the same spot. Cannot find the marriage or the family on the census years you mentioned. John would have been my great great grandad. Appreciate any info you could possibly share with us. We’ve been stuck at this point for years!

Hi Phil, are you related to this family or just doing research. Do you have an ancestry account?
