Perhaps a wild suggestion;Could she be an adoptee?

If she was married twice, there are two marriage certificates which hopefully would give her father's name and occupation. It would be worth a try.

Hi heywood

We have applied for marriage certificates. We are hoping it will show her father's name and confirm her age.

Thanks

Gill

Hi heywood

There is a possibility that she may have been adopted or brought up by someone else and taken their name....unfortunately no part of that family exist to look in to this. Hoping the marriage certificate will push us forward

Gill

Hi

We have a marriage certificate which states that she was married at Liverpool south registry office. However it only gives the names of the witnesses as JI Ashton and AL Kenny also that she was 24 in 1940, confirming date of birth at 1916 on 1939 register.

thanks

Gill

Hello Gill,

Presumably no father’s name?

Heywood

Unfirtunately not. I think she must have been adopted. Is there anywhere that you can trace adoption records when you haven’t got much to go on..

Regards

Gill
