Groom, how do I access someone's tree on ancestry. I have an account but it's the 'free' version.

I'm afraid I don't know that as I have a subscription. I wonder if you can do it when Ancestry offer free weekends? Someone on here might know the answer.

According to Broadstairs and Margate Library, Jamesville, Ciderdrinker, is a house rather than a place.

Hi new to this my grandfather Joshua Chalcraft was born 1930 in Godalming to Charles Frederick Chalcraft one of his brothers was William born 1891 their father and mother Francis Chalcraft and Fanny Hurren. Francis’s parents I believe to be William born 1837  and Maryann Beatie. I also have Williams parents as William dob 1797 and Jane tilbury. Does this tie in with anyone’s info?

My mother's parents were William Joshua Chalcraft 1891-1971 and Constance Mary Irwin 1895-1983.

Joshua's parents were Francis Chalcraft 1868-1918 and Fanny Elizabeth Hurley 1867-?

You say your grandfather was Joshua Chalcraft 1930-? Who are William Chalcraft 1797-? and Jane Tilbury?

Possibly Francis’s grandparents don’t have access to the census now and have not researched for a couple of years but they married in headley Hampshire and later appeared in Godalming in a census William being born 1797 and Jane 1804. I also have William born 1837 in cow lane Godalming married to Maryann Beatie these two I am sure are the parents of Francis who lived in hare lane Godalming. My grandad lived in Catteshall Lane Godalming as a child. His dad Charles had brothers William Walter Thomas and frank and a sister Frances. I’m just not 100% on the William and Jane part but there is definitely a couple and children listed on one of the census’s and the ages seem to match.

One of our ancestors was the last person to be hanged in Godalming but you probably knew that
