I forgot to add, that there's an entry in 1806 in the Roydon baptisms re. the children of the late Samuel Newson and his wife Mary being received into the church. It notes they had been baptised by a presbyterian clergyman. It names another child not on your list, Samuel born 1794.

If you haven't seen this let me know as it has the birth dates for all of the children.

There is a monumental inscription at North Lopham, In memory of Thomas Newson died 7 June 1802 in his 39th year.
Granite stone, and angel and vase motif.

Is he yours?

ADDED
If this is correct then born about 1763

Have you considered the following John Newson and Rebecca, they seem to be C of E and at times Presbyterian.

Esther bap 26 August 1761 of Diss (P)
John bap 31 August 1762 of Diss  (P)
James bap 25 February 1765 (C of E) Diss, died ?
Richard bap 2 November 1766 (P) of Roydon
Samuel bap 23 October 1769 (C of E) Diss
William bap 25 November 1770  (P) of Roydon
James bap 29 July 1772  (C of E) Diss

Samuel married Mary and had their children baptized Presbyterian and after he died she had then all re-baptized C of E in 1806.
Letters of Admin 6 June 1806 he left no will, Norfolk Sources.

Given my first post, isn't the witness "Anne Porter" interesting?

(and not shown in the FreeReg transcription; where did you get that?)

There's a pattern here, and I will find it, piece by piece!

Yes, he's the Thomas Newson who's will started the whole thread. His age (and hence DOB) is very useful to me.

I know that South Lopham is included in the WI grave transcription project, available on familysearch, but North Lopham is not.

Where did you find the inscription please? I have a lot of family-tree in North Lopham.

I apologize should have sourced my reference, it's on the transcription website (NORS) of the Norfolk Family History Society, you have to be a member to access more than the index.

If they have a decent transcription of the monuments of Saint Nicholas, North Lopham that alone would justify me joining.
