Buckley Hall, Crimble, Slaithwaite
« on: Wednesday 05 July 17 17:27 BST (UK) »
Can anyone tell me where exactly Buckley Hall was located?
I know it was near the old silk mill in Clough  Road, Crimble. I have seen it named on an old map but can't quite see where the building was.
Are there any traces of it left today?
I know the area very well but can't see anything that looks like a hall-sized residence. Though the name might have referred to a farm or group of smaller dwellings.

First photo shows the likely location and the second photo shows a possible old driveway overgrown

Jay, thanks for the reply.
The area which you circle in red is now waste ground awaiting development, it was a mill which burned down. I think it is the place which on old maps is named the silk mill. I recall that the cobble driveway was the entrance to the mill premises.
Buckley Hall seems to have been behind or to the side of it.
I guess the buildings are long gone.
