LAUDADIO - of New York and Las Vegas
« on: Thursday 06 July 17 03:08 BST (UK) »
I am searching for my aunt’s husband. AL LAUDADIO. I have zero vital information about him. I did find someone on Ancestry once that I thought could be him and got in touch with his granddaughter, but she confirmed that her Albert Ladaudio was not my Uncle Al, which is fine, considering he had no known children.

Here is what I do know: At some point he lived in Rochester NY and may have even married my aunt there, her name is Donna Marie STORLIE (born in Lakeville MN in 1924 and she died in Vegas in 1978), they moved to Las Vegas in the 1960s. He may have cooked in a restaurant, in Rochester, called Duffy’s. He worked at Caesar’s Palace, in Las Vegas, as a cook. I know he had at least two sisters, too. Oh! And he had a glass eye. After my aunt died, my family lost touch with him. I have no living relatives that can help me fill in his blanks.

I think this is the best bet:  Albert Thomas Laudadio

He lived in Las Vegas and had relatives named Donna M. and Robert.

He died on 25 March 1990 and is buried in Rochester, NY.

He was living in Rochester in 1940.  At that time he was married with one child [Albert, Jr.].  So, it looks like Donna Marie would have been a second wife.

If the above is correct, the obituary of Albert Jr. (b. Sep 1938 - d. Aug 2008), states that he was the son of Albert Sr., and Nina Capone.

Funny, I have looked all over and you've both found more than I've been able to. I will look at these things closer. Thank you so much!

It appears Albert & Nina were divorced. Neither are mentioned in each others obits.

Nina SSDI: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VPSZ-98S

Wonder what the (Lee) is about after Nina's name in her obit???

Al Laudadio Sr. was my grandfather. Married Nina Capone in 1935 in Rochester, NY. Divorced sometime later. Many called my grandmother Lee as a nickname. Their son, Albert T. was my dad. Grandpa was a Vaudaville dancer when he was young and was on the Vaudeville circuit between NYC and Chicago. He said he used to dance with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in the early days. He owned the "Bar and Grill" in Rochester NY. I believe it was located on Norton St. back in the 50's/60's. He moved to Vegas and was head chef at the MGM and Cesar's.

I never met Donna but my grandfather spoke of her often. I hope you get this and it's helpful.

Bobby

Update:
The restaurant Al owned in Rochester was called "The Garden and Grill." His father was Concezio, Brothers Fred, Nick and Ernie.
