« on: Thursday 06 July 17 06:40 BST (UK) »
Can anyone access the Kentish Gazette Jan 1832 which are held at the Kent History & Library Centre in Maidstone for the report on a trail of William CHIFFEY which was held 17 Jan 1832 at the Rochester Quarter Sessions for stealing a gun.
I have asked before if any one has access to Rochester Quarter Session which are held at Medway Archives & Local Studies Centre file number (RCA/J1/2).  with no luck . I have all his convict files but none give any detail to the crime which I would love to be able to be able to find

any assistance would be most appreciated

From Maidstone Gazette and Kentish  Chronicle Tuesday 10 January1832.

"The Rochester Epiphany Quarter Session was held at the Guildhall, on Saturday last, before the Mayor, Recorder, and other Civic Officers. The only case that came before the Court was the trial of a lad, named Chifley, who was charged with stealing a gun, value 20s., the property of William Eastdown residing at Higham, near Rochester. The prisoner was found guiltv of the offence; and sentenced to seven years transportation"
