There is a file at PROV - Woolf died intestate and his estate consisted of a passenger ticket to Jaffa and £95 deposited with Thomas Cook in Jerusalem when he died.  His only assets.

Thank you! That one article practically gives me the answer of who her parents were! And now I know siblings and her birth date. My friend is ecstatic! I wonder why I hadn't come across that before after doing many searches for both "Cohen" and "McKendrick" in Trove.

Thanks Jamjar! I actually had assumed that Rachel would have stayed in Victoria but one thing I've learnt is to never assume anything! I hadn't even thought of that. We knew about Hazel and Sydney in WA as my friend is their granddaughter, but as my friend's mum barely knew anything of Hazel's parentage except for two names, it was assumed that they had stayed (and died) in Victoria.

Thanks Ros, it may be them in Whittlesea! What does HD mean? Is it 'home duties'? And it may be Stanley in both circumstances, I've had many instances (mainly English ancestors) who reverse their names around.
