Cause of death pre-1837
« on: Friday 07 July 17 21:13 BST (UK) »
Hi there is there a way to find out the cause of death for someone who died pre-1837 before death certificates? Just wondering if anyone knew.
Thank you
Vicky

I have never seen this on a Parish Register?

As Giggsy said it is very occasionally entered in the parish records, but unfortunately that doesn't happen very often, so the answer to your question is, generally no.

Unless it was the sort of death that required an inquest and/or was reported in the newspaper.
