Thanks everyone! James Jenkinson was Charlotte's second husband. The tree found is another relative's that I am working with to solve this mystery. The information about Dolby being a reverend and that Dollie was born in Melbourne came from family notes and discussions. I at least feel better that I haven't missed something in the BMD in NZ. I don't have the marriage certificate of Dollie so that should be the next thing to try. Thanks everyone for your help so far!

It is not sound research to say James was Charlotte's second husband.
The documentation to date does not support this. You do not have any documents to support a first marriage.

You will not make progress in your search until you acquire a transcription of the marriage  between Dollie DOLBY and Edgar KIRBY.

Even then, one must bear in mind that the bride was possibly giving information for the registration which she  had got from her mother.  Possibly true, possibly not..

Thanks Sue. Your points are valid but I have the information that Jenkinson is her second marriage because we have Charlotte's death certificate and that is what it states. I will order the marriage certificate in the hopes that something is helpful there. Thanks.

The MC may have some good clues. ;D
Death certificates are the most unreliable of BMD records.

There are many reasons for this.
The informant may be-

Affected by grief and confusion
Saving face and protecting the reputation of the deceased
Restating erroneous information based on family stories.
etc.

So, just because a death certificate states a case, it may not be the truth. As you have said, the informant had Charlotte's father's name in correct, so what else ::) A marriage?

Having said that, have you looked at Rev Charles DOLBY.

There are some records of him on Trove archives. A missionary to the South Seas in Australia in the early 1900's.
Charles is the only Rev DOLBY I have spotted in Australia.
