Thanks for all that. Since my last post I was actually looking for them aswell and came up with the same after all. I also found that Margaret had died by 1901 census and Joseph was living on his own in Granby St, Leicester.
All I have seen for Margaret is Ireland. Was hoping to have found a county of birth for her. Oh well, my attention now turns to the other Flanagan siblings...

See if he had his wife Margaret with him but not Ann?

Can anyone see any further details for this Jeremiah? I noticed in the 1841 census that he had a daughter Mary age 7 and daughter Catherine age 2 (ages could be slightly out in early census) and they are both marked born in County.

I see that Catherine's birth registered but am after baptism records for either that might shed some more light.

No, it isn't. I am not sure that would be it though as the mothers name for mine is Margaret, not Hannah.

I had a quick look at the census records and I think that even though my Jeremiah was in 1851 in Liverpool, the other Jeremiah still shows up in Surrey. So it is probably pointless looking for those births anyway. The records I need are most likely in Irish parish registers but I haven't found likely ones as yet!

It may well be that Mary Flanagan and Michael Gilligan met in Liverpool and were  not from the same area in Ireland.
However, just to note that his father was Roger Gilligan.

Roger and Honor Gilligan are living in the same street as Michael’s  residence on marriage and Roger’s death in 1870.
He shows Belfast as his p.o.b in 1851.

Note the two variations in spelling of the surname.
I can’t see this couple later or any children
