The legal age for joining up was 18, however some were known to lie about their age to enlist before they were 18.

Just wondering how finding the right marriage for Minnie will help you find Bernard??

Bernard's birth registered June quarter 1899 - a Bernard Smith b.30/4/1899 d.Dec.1970 Bromsgrove so a possibility for him.

The 1911 marriage for a Minnie Smith was to a Charles H. Adams (the other couple on the page married each other).  However, looks like this Minnie was born 1886 whereas 'your' Minnie born Dec.qtr.1892.
