Great great grandma Cooper
« on: Saturday 08 July 17 19:13 BST (UK) »
Hi Rootschatters,
Its been a while... Just visited my mum and she had the enclosed photo in a tin marked Great great Grandma Cooper...  I've posted here because the family lived in Derbyshire for generations.
My question is, what era do you think her dress represents?  Also, my mum thought it looked like mourning attire, what do you think?

Great great Grandma Cooper..

Any clue as to her christian name/birthyear?

If your mum was born 1931 and this lady is her great/great gran you are possibly looking at
1840 -1850's

Sadly not CaroleW... It's so important that we put names and dates on pics or the info get lost forever...  She looks like an interesting lady, I think x

Hi

If her name is unknown - how does your mum know it her g/g/gran Cooper?

Was Cooper your mum's maiden name?  It should be relatively easy to trace back from your mum to establish her g/g grans name which would help establish her birthyear.  We love a challenge on RC ;D

I'm not sure.. It was scribbled in my mums writing on the back and she couldn't remember when she wrote it or where she got the info from.  Yes her maiden name was Cooper.

I think you should put this on the Photo Restoration Board for dating.

Trish :)
