Thank you ROSIE7 & FORFARIAN - That's great information!  I need some time to absorb it but the exciting thing is that my Grandmother Jane(Jean) Weir - nee Young(daughter of David & Mary) had a middle name Wishart & my Aunty is also Jean Wishart Drummond (nee Weir) & she has no idea where the name Wishart came from so to me, that is the link. I have an article written in Dunedin paper about David & Jane celebrating their Diamond wedding 1939 & David was 90 & Jane 80 & ship 'Storm Cloud' arrived 30 July 1861 with Young family. Passenger list shows Young/Joseph-wife & family (7) plus a David Young & family (2). No idea if related but probably. Have death records at Portobello for Joseph/Jane plus David & Mary. All very helpful stuff. Thank you both so much.  Can I reply to you individually or is this ok??

Glad it was useful.

Do you have names and ages for David Young and family?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Gosh Rosie17 - you have been busy! That's fantastic info & you have definitely cracked it! Based on death date & age, David was 11 yrs when they came to NZ (I thnk I said 6) so the Joseph & Jane Wishart correct family. All makes sense. And solved the mystery of Wishart!  Thanks too FORFARIAN - I think you got it first up. Just don't understand the abbreviations IGI & FS? Bit 'green' at this! ROSIE - can I access Anc....y for that info without signing up?
Thanks so much both of you!

Sorry. International Genealogical Index at Family Search www.familysearch.org - useful, but not to be trusted 100%.
