Place of Burial
« on: Sunday 09 July 17 05:07 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

My CD has gone haywire again, and although I have reloaded it, it still won't behave.
So, I need the place of burial for Edwin James RICHARDS died 1878 and Alice Louise FOWLER died 1917.

Thank you,
Jean

Thank you Beg,

Now all I have to do is somehow, without spending any money, decide whether the two of them were originally husband and wife.

Hi Jean,

Is any of this the deciding factor? :D

On the 1896/1900 E/R's Alice is listed as a widow living in Queen Street, Auckland.

1905-1906 Widow living at Grey Street, Auckland, and there is a John living at the same address, occupation Engineer.    Does he fit in with your names?

Marriage has her new husband as George Towler in 1906.

Cheers

Hello KHP,

No, John Richards does not appear, as far as I know, in her family.

And because I could not find a death for an Alice Louisa TOWER, but could for an Alice Louisa FOWLER, I decided that BDM's NZ had misread the original.

I have looked up two George FOWLER wills, but no hint of an Alice Louisa. The TOWER family seemed to be mostly in the Manawatu, and I am certain Alice would not have ended up there as both her daughters were in the Auckland area.

Perhaps I should start again and
1. ask for a burial lookup for Alice Louisa Tower
2. buy Edwin's death certificate
3. buy Alice Louisa's 1906 marriage certificate
4. go and look at a completely different family  ::)

Thank you for your interest.
PS I think it was you some years ago who advised me to reload the CDRom - that hasn't worked but I will have another try.

Hi Jean,

She is recorded under Fowler and Towler as in Beg's reply.

Thanks KHP,

I had missed that.

Looks as though several people had trouble writing "T" and "F"
