Are these replies on RootsChat threads?
Or on PM's?

I think the OP can't delete emails on the email app on their ipad, if so there is a fix for it here

You can't delete posts that other people have made, Jen.
Unless they are on your PM posts of course.

I have tried to help people and when I am notified of further posts on my iPad/computer I am unable to delete some of these replies and my mail box is filling up. I am now having to click notify any post I make and then keep checking manually.

I asm still not clear as to where you are trying to delete?

Is this within RootsChat?
Or is it on your Email software? In which case, what software do you use, and on what operating sytem?

E.G. I use GMX and Windows 7
(I don't do iPad!)

Hi Jennifer,

If you are receiving RootsChat notifications on topics that you are no longer interested in following on RootsChat you need to click on the "un-notify button" you will find this close to the reply button on the topics.

Regards

Sarah

Jennifer,

I've now changed your Email Notification settings in your profile to:

Quote
For topics and boards I've requested email notifications on, notify me: Instantly - but only the first unread reply

It was set to "Instantly" before so you would have been getting an email for each and every reply that someone made (which would fill up your inbox pretty quickly).

With this change though, you will only get one email for a reply to a topic even if there are several replies, until the next time to get onto RootsChat to view the topic.

If you can look at JGarrard's question to try and help you then we hopefully will come up with ideas to help if the setting above hasn't helped.

All the best,
Trystan

Hi Jennifer,

This is a problem other people have experienced too. There seem to be two main causes. If it's a temporary glitch that happens now and again, then one cause could be weak or interrupted internet connectivity between your Ipad and your e-mail server. The 'solution' is then simply to turn Wifi off on your IPad, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. If this doesn't help or if you've always had this problem then you probably need to adjust the email-settings on your IPad.

Here are some links to webpages (and a video) that explain how to solve the problem. The 'solutions' offered to adjust your email-settings are slightly different but complement each other. I'm sure one of them will fix the problem.

NOTE: In the video, the first 'solution' is just to reset your internet connection. The second 'solution' is to delete your e-mail account (and set it up again)! I suggest you ignore this 'solution' unless everything else (including those on the webpages) fail! The third solution in the video shows you how to adjust the email-settings. The webpages do too.

Video (ignore solution 2!): https://youtu.be/9okquJJop_Q

Adjust email-settings(1): https://forgetcomputers.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201010530-Can-t-Delete-Email-from-iPad-or-iPhone
Adjust e-mail settings (2): http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/974020

I hope one of these 'solutions' fixes the problem!

Mike
