SL..I just happen to have been 200 odd miles from home today and went to visit the Bristol Library which was alw\ays a great source of info . when I visited in the past .
I was just walking out from the upper floors having just found pics in odd books when one last look revealed your book mentioned . An hour later and a wealth of info later , I felt a little happier I was in the area .
The book itself was dated 1976 and has so much detail and many pictures which include one of the aforementioned Wilfred Groves .
My next visit will be to stay at the Old Ferry Hotel , Beachley at some future stage .
Now to look for Lilian George , his wife who I came across through discussion a couple of weeks ago before going away to the south west .

163 Whitefield Rd shows as a fairly new build on a '36-'38 old map and a '50 old map confirms that the house with the lamp post in front of it was 163 then, and according to google, now.

Thanks for that again SL and will look to visit the site of the house when next in Bristol..now to look into the George family connection over next week or so .
