I wonder if anybody can help me.

I have my grandfathers discharge notes, they don't really say much:
863359 - MORTON Frederick - 15/3/38 Para 3 83 (xi) (a) Re R.

Can anybody shed some light on the information provided?

From this information can I look at my grandfathers military records, where can I start when I have no service number?  Originally I thought 863359 was his service record, but I have been advised that it's a "serial number in the list of discharged personnel".

Please advise.

According to what I've seen he was discharged to reserve.
Can you tell us if he was an Officer or Other Rank & how long was he in.
These are the KR's 1935 which should state reasons for discharge providing they didn't change them by 1938.

I have no other Army information for Frederick Morton.
I do know he died in 1965.

I've done a search to Page 139 like you sad Jim1.
All I can see are a few items, and all I can see is RASC Journal - 1939 relating to the discharge date.
I cannot view the page after here.

In the search box type in 383 then press Search. Then select Page 139 and it should appear in a viewer

The Army regs. I've put the link to are for 1935-37. It's possible they may have changed by 1938.
