Burial after death in Bradford
« on: Wednesday 12 July 17 18:20 BST (UK) »
If someone died in Bradford in the 1800s (1842 and 1874) where might they be buried please?

This any help?

Although looking at that list a lot opened later than 1842, so the earlier burial at least may have been in a churchyard rather than a cemetery. Probably in a church near to where the person had lived.

Thanks.  You're right.  I'll look at a map and see if I can identify the nearest/most likely church.  He lived at Victoria Terrace, Bradford.  His wife died 1874 and lived at Jonas Gate, Horton, Bradford.

Thank you…..Joseph Thompson of Victoria Terrace, Bradford died aged 31 on 6 July 1842.  His wife Elizabeth remarried after his death, so would have been buried as Elizabeth Dunn.  She died 4 Jan 1874 aged 64.  She was living at Jonas Gate, Horton, Bradford.
