Parish Records at NRO
« on: Thursday 13 July 17 12:09 BST (UK) »

The NRO website used to include a (very useful!) page listing all the parish registers they held, together with dates covered for baptisms, marriages and burials.

However, when I last went to have a look at this it seems to have disappeared from the website.  Can anyone find it and post a link???

Many thanks.

No, I don't think it's there any more. I was looking for it the other day.

I do have a copy of the list I downloaded a couple of years ago, dated 2013, though, if that's any use. Otherwise, you'll have to try the online catalogue, and see if what you want is listed on that yet.

Unless anyone else knows different?

I use an old copy of SOG National index of Parish Registers - Northamptonshire by Cliff Webb that gives the holdings of said registers.

It is still available (surprisingly cheap) from SOG ...

I looked yesterday and can not work out the new search engine, it used to be so simple.

Here is page one if it looks okay as the original document is a pdf.

Other than that they have a facebook page, which you could ask if you have an account.

They have really messed with the website. I spent ages the other day looking for the pdf of parish registers. There is also one for non-conformist registers. Luckily I have them both printed out, but they are old,  I was trying to find what had been deposited recently.

Many thanks for your replies - good to know that it's not me just having a "senior moment"!

Have sent a message to the NRO and will post any reply/solution here as soon as I receive it.

Re: Parish Records at NRO - Update
« Reply #7 on: Friday 21 July 17 20:13 BST (UK) »

Update, as promised!

NRO have kindly supplied me with a PDF of their parish records holding (as at end 2013) and have apologised that, due to changes to their website, the document is no longer there.
