DECIPHERING PART OF 1682 MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.
« on: Thursday 13 July 17 14:14 BST (UK) »
Just wondering if anybody can help out with this paragraph of 1682 Somerset Marriage Certificate? This is about the only hint I can give;

Alexander Pile of(?) ye(?)....... of(?).........
of Somerset ....... & (and) Grace Bartholomew
of Norton Fitzwarren in(?) ye(?)........
of Somerset

I know I have the groom, bride, Norton Fitzwarren correct, and probably Somerset.

Les
de Belin, Swindail, Willcock, Williams, Moore, Watts, Searjeant, Watson, McCready, Reid, Spink, de Lancey, Van Cortland, and of course, Smith!

Technically, the county is written here as Som(m)erset.

There's a contraction mark after the m indicating (probably) omission of the second of a double m.

Also, is it possible the document is a Marriage Bond rather than a record of the actual marriage?
