dobfarm,

Thank you for the link, that is interesting.
I'm still wondering though about the consequences when updates don't install, for whatever reason, and would have hoped MS might have issued some form of info bulletin, for duffers like me, when there is a known problem.

All I can say look at it long term, think of the time you was not worried about or concerned over windows updates, think about the number of people who get updates, I can only speak for my own internet security but all are similar, they warn you if anything is big afoot or wrong.

Maybe subscribed internet security has an edge over the free stuff for about £30 a year or circa 50 pence a week but debatable.

I've been with Norton years and let them do the thinking but as said debatable.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

dobfarm,

Thanks for your contribution, but not sure I share your thoughts. I'm no fan of Norton (or McAfee) and recently had problems with AVG.
Best we agree to disagree I think.

"Microsoft .NET frame work 4.7 for Windows 10 version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 for x64 (FB 3186568)"

This is the one that I believed caused my laptop to crash, yesterday, for the first time ever.
