Do NOT download anything until you know what you do have!!

You need to look in your Downloads Folder!!

Right! Nothing in there goes by a recognisable name - just letters and digits so have had to look at all of them.  First off, I have a Downloads folder created in 2011 and it is empty!! I have a couple of Windows Script Hosts Desktop/Old Firefox with a script error but can't tell what the date is. There is no sign of Firefox itself!

Just tried Wee Hugh's suggestion of Disk clean up which I've never used but I do delete temporary internet files and history regularly. Even more hassle - lost everything on screen except my screensaver so had to reboot yet again.

How do I delete one of the Firefoxes in Taskmaster - tried right clicking but no delete option showing.

Forgot to say, both Firefox entries on Taskmaster are dated yesterday (when I did all that refreshing etc) but one is about twice the size of the other. I am so utterly confused, you have no idea............

You won't be at all surprised to learn I have absolutely no idea. Been searching for it but can't find it.

Well, I have A downloads folder which contain items I've downloaded like newspaper extracts etc but nothing with Firefox in it.

In Firefox (and probably most other browsers) you can define where you want your downloads to go

I always have a folder on my D: drive (where I always keep all my data)

This screen shot is in german, but it should give you an idea. (Maybe someone can add an english
version)
The first lines says where, the second line gives you the option of automatically storing them there or asking if you want to store them somewhere else.

What do you get if you type  Default  in search box?

Does it give option to show what is set for downloads?

You need to find what the default is for downloads....

You can also try search box and put in Programs  and click on that Folder to see what Programs you have and see if it is listed there twice...

If there, delete the one with lowest number.....

Only keep highest number if you have 2 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7...   ;D
