Printing pdf files

Suddenly I cannot print pdf files, either from my folders or via the wireless printer from e-mails etc
I have HP Envy 5544 and note from the computer log that an Adobe update was installed 11 July.
Anyone else had this problem?
All other printing seems ok.

Update.
I find that by clicking on the print icon nothing happens, but if if right click on the pdf icon relevant to the file I can print the whole document, but not able to select specific pages. In other words the print dialogue box does not appear.

What version of Adobe Acrobat are you using?

I am on 2017 Release, version 2017.009.20058.
If I open a PDF document and then click on the Print icon, everything works just fine?!

(I am on Windows 7)
