The GRO ref 15 65 is shown as aged 36 - burial 9.11.1838 at St George but age 34
The other is 74 and more likely to be "John"

Carole W

bless you --- I have just rediscovered the previous search on here and will link it..

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=717055.msg5608532#msg5608532

as you can see we were almost there...

You were helping out then as again here...

Thank you

all of you...

I am myself wondering now why the search seemed to suddenly stop... midway..... there must have been a very good reason.. but for the life of me..... cannot pinpoint it.
It may have been the 2nd Flood we had --- I remember that was around that time so ... I will check that out..

Was just going to post that I think John Raven has been listed as 'James' in error in their index.    Death Dec.qtr.1838 and GRO Index states he was 74!   (Another James Raven in same quarter was aged 34).   Burials index shows, correctly, a John 74 and a James 34 but GRO have it as 2 James'.

However, I now see you seem to have this information already.

Thank you Annette

really do appreciate all the help

and also angry to think - people are working on a duplicate search... through this thick head

which is hung in shame...

Received the cert for James and it is JAMES  not John!   however it states John Brother as informant???

So still wondering on this one :(

Sorry to have been a pain (I get worse I know :( :( )

PS :   NOTE THE ADDRESS  is correct for my family... they did live in Bridge Street.. at least some of them did.

So will do some more research on this.  Thanks

Xin

Strange cause of death!

So it looks to me as if the burial has been recorded in the wrong name - John rather than James?

he he -- not a pleasant death !?  Poor old John/James... I think as you say an error in the recording.. of the death..
Onwards and hopefully upwards to pursue another day :)

Don't want to be negative, but surely one answer is that the death was just not registered?  We all know there are masses of gaps, especially in the early years.  However, hope you resolve the problem.
