Thomas Barlow b abt 1798 Colchester

I have a real stumbling block in Thomas Barlow, Thomas married Elizabeth Collison 26 Jan 1821 Grimstone Norfolk. I have him on 1841 census in Grimstone (transcribed as Barley) he states he is of the county (Norfolk), 1851 and 1861 census in Grimstone he states place of birth as Colchester...............search as I might I cannot find anything remotely matching his age and name...........any help please ?

There are 26 C of E churches in Colchester and many more non conformists. Not counting surrounding villages
Do you have any clues to narrow it down?
My point 80 years ago I lived in Copford 5 miles from Colchester, later in life it was easier to say I was from Colchester as it was the nearest market town and people new of it.

Another thing to consider is that people often didn't know exactly where they were born, quite often they would give their birth place as the the earliest place they remember living.

No other clues to where he was born, Thomas died in 1864 so no more censuses, he had 3 daughters Ann, Susan and Alice,  Ann was his wife's mother's name so wondering if Susan or Alice was his mother's ?

Ann bap 12 April 1829
Susan bap 6 November 1831
Alice bap 23 August 1835

Only Ann, Susan and Alice are on the 1841 census.
1851 Ann is still at home with parents, but Alice and Susan are both in service.

The registers on film are missing the time period that Mary or Elizabeth would have married or died.

Mary Barlow married John Hanslip 1848, so William age 1 in 1851 has mothers name Barlow on new GRO Index.
The 1851 census of Grimston has John Hanslip age31 born 1820, Mary age 26 born 1825 son William age 1, and Maria Hanslip age 12 who is John Hanslip' sister.

Mary Barlow full age spinster father Thomas Barlow married John Hanslip full age widower, father John Hanslip, witness William Hanslip and Caroline Gates.
Date 11 September 1848 at Grimstone.
John Hanslip' first marriage was to Alice Smith 16 October 1841 at Grimstone

PLUS
Alice Hanslip nee Smith was buried 1844 registered Freebmd as Alais Hanslip.
John and Alice Hanslip had a son Thomas born 1842 died 1842.
