IF the father of both Edward and Benjamin Gilead was another Benjamin Gilead- perhaps the one born 1755 Workington who passed away 22 April 1838 - aged 83 years - could be the father of those two  ???

There is an Isaiah Gillead of Workington who was a mariner in the records from 1845 to 1854, so possibly also in 1841.

The other Isaiah born 1800 who married Margaret Scrugham in 1842 was a mariner on the 1841 census.

Could this be more likely for John Gilead - 1841 Collier West Workington - think the Gindat surname is Tindall on the anc site  - since Joseph Tindall married Martha Mucklewean at St Michaels Workington in 1808.

Joseph Gindat   53 Innkeeper. Martha Gindat   56
George Gindat   20 Joseph Gindat   7
Daniel Gindat   4
John Gillied 20 Coal-Leader.

Think we've found the same one, Sandra, and I added it a while back - but different ref - I remember seeing Tindall as an Innkeeper. Will recheck the ref.
