Hello All, would love to complete this puzzle and find ancestors of the late James Cantle, Cantell born around 1718 Carpenter had two sons John a Carpenter and James a Wiredrawer they belonged to the Bristol Burgess Books and Apportionment Book. James burial date 12/6/1768 Bitton Parish Gloucestershire he married a Ann ? :'( :-[

Hello Capetown thanks for your reply John Cantle Jame's son was baptised at Kingswood I don't know anymore, I have searched through Ancestry, had a lot of help from a researcher and purchased CD's from Bristol Archives. I would love to find ancestors that are connected to James Cantle. :-[

Ancestry is not the be-all and end-all of Family History! :-\

They have good coverage of Gloucestershire records, but very little of Bristol records.
I.E. records from Gloucestershire Archives can be found on Ancestry; but nothing from Bristol Record Office.

FindMyPast has Bristol Parish Registers.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

From Free Reg:-
John Cantle born 25 Jan 1737/8, baptised 24 May 1779. Moravian Church, Maudlin Street, Bristol.
Note:- John's married brother baptised 24 May 1779 being Whit Monday, Brethern's Chapel, Kingwood.

Perhaps you need to consider non-conformist records. Kingwood adjacent to Bitton.
