Laversuch family, Teesdale, Stanlow Point, Hollins Green, Chester

John Laversuch born 1857 in Birkenhead, Cheshire married Mary Ann Burton (no details found, estimated birth 1865) 4 Oct 1886 in Romaldkirk, Yorkshire.

With GRO index including MMN they appear to have had at least 4 children.

'Nellie' and Charles appear in 1891 as visitors with, and Lily and Charles appear in 1901 census as adopted children of, John and Jane Broughton in Barton, Lancashire and Bradford, Yorkshire respectively.

I have found John in 1871 census, but can find no trace of John and Mary Ann Laversuch in later census, death or other records, or of the other children in 1891, 1901 or 1911 census.

Can anyone find what happened to them?

On the 1898 Cheshire Electoral Register there is a John Laversuch living at Brook Street, Neston-cum-Parkgate.

  Did you not have another thread in 2015 re a Fanny Laversuch who married a John Smith, if so the above 1891 will provide a few Smith relatives possibly?

IGI in 1891 census has them as abode - Ship Canal Huts ,Stanlow and Mary Ann is born 1867

Thank you all for your replies.

1891 census is definitely them, so all 4 children accounted for in 1891, plus parents, including Mary A Laversuch, nee Burton, born c 1867,  Abderdeen, (Wales crossed through, ? faint S in margin).

Frederick Smith, aged 16, was indeed son of Fanny Laversuch and John Smith, keyboard, not sure about the other Smith in the household.  John King, aged 8, I cannot immediately place, but he may or may not be related by marriage to another Laversuch sibling, Jane who married John Dixon in 1882. (GRO John King, MMN Dixon, born Jun qtr 1884, Hull, Yorkshire).

The marriage at Romaldkirk I mentioned in my original post, it appears in England, Select Marriages, 1538–1973.

So, John and Mary Ann were still living in 1891, but 2 children, Lily and Charles, had been 'adopted' by 1901.  Mary Ann possibly born Aberdeen, Scotland, possibly born Wales in a place sounding like Abderdeen.

I am wondering happened after that to the parents and Mary Ellen and Jane.  I'll have another look for them later today,  I am away at present.
