William Binns 1816 Bradford
« on: Wednesday 19 July 17 05:48 BST (UK) »
Hi, am interested if anyone knows of the whereabouts of William's wife Harriet. I think they were married around early 1840's. William was transported to Tasmania in 1843 and in his records it states that he had a wife, Harriet and two children.  I have found one record that states William married in 1842 to one of 4 possible women, one of whom was a Harriet Jagger. William never went back to England and married again here in Tasmania and had 14 children.

11 September 1842 - St Peter, Bradford - by Banns
William Binns, 27, bachelor, weaver of Clayton Heights.  Father:  Joshua, weaver
Harriet Jagger, 26, spinster, weaver of Clayton Heights.  Father:  Benjamin, weaver

Witnesses:  John Corless Jacques and John Miller.  William, Harriet and John Jacques all made their mark.

You say that by 1843 William had two children  :o

Hi trish1120,
Thanks for your assistance.  The info that BumblB provided seems to be the one that fits the best.  I had worked out that he had possibly married a Harriet Jagger but was unable to confirm this.  Now is seems that I now may have the info required.  This is an awesome website as I had been searching for ages without any luck till I stumbled onto this one.  Again thanks for your interest and assistance as the 1841 Census info, which I had found also, confirmed it just that little more.
