Need to find parents of

They were adopted when their dad died before 1891 by a Thomas family ??

A lot of ?? after some of your post which suggests you are unsure and haven't checked freebmd to confirm the info.  How do you know Ann was nee Evans?

Have you looked on freebmd?  You shouldn't assume they married in Glamorgan and should search all counties just in case

Where??  Do you have a copy of Gwenllian's birth cert confirming her fathers name and mothers maiden name?  No details given by you as to where Gwenllian was born

Does Ann's marriage cert to David Jones show her as a widow?  That cert will also show her fathers name and occupation

No info in your post as to birthyears or birthplaces and given the common nature of both surnames you would need to supply more details

Hi

This information was left in an old letter

I believe the reg district is Pontypridd and the parish was llantrisant

But the elderly relative passed away a number of years ago and was unable to complete the research

Hope this helps

Have you looked for them under Jones on the 1881 census to establish birthplaces and birthyears for Ann & Gwenllian?

Have you checked freebmd and matched entries for mothers maiden name using
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp

1872-1876 - no Gwenllian Howell or Howells with a mmn Evans

You say Ann married David Jones but have you looked on freebmd to establish when and where?

Philip Roderick jones 1878

Had you checked freebmd you would have found it was 1876

Looks like Philip Roderick Jones was a servant in the household of Dan Thomas in Pontypridd in1901.
