Sorry if I'm repeating stuff already posted but I find it easier for myself if I've written it out

Phillip Roderick Jones born Pontypridd 1876 mothers maiden name Evans (I know the year is a little out)
David Jones born Pontypridd 1877 mothers maiden name Evans (again year is out but age gap between kids is right)

There are three potential Elizabeth Jones mmn  Evans in Pontypridd in 1875, 1877 and 1878 - I'd lean towards the elder one to be honest and think the letter miscalculated all three of the ages

In Jun 1873 there is a marriage between John Jones and Ann Evans in Pontypridd - obviously if she'd previously been married you'd expect it to be Ann Howells

In 1874 there is a Gwenllian JONES with mmn Evans born in Pontypridd

In 1889 there is a William Williams marrying a Gwenllian Jones in Pontypridd - she would be young though (15)

How sure are you of the Howell(s) possibility as a father?
