Maria Davies
« on: Saturday 22 July 17 16:22 BST (UK) »
Hi guys,
Trying to find some information on Maria Davies (or David), preferably birth, death etc. Maria was born in about 1876 in Tramroad Side, Pontypridd to William Davies (David) and Sarah Elizabeth Crockett. I have found her in the 1881 census living with her mother, father and brother (George E Davies) in 12 Pleasant View, Ton Pentre, Rhondda, Glamorgan, she is aged 5.

RG11/5302/86 p 4

Any help on this subject would be gratefully received,  Many Regards.
Parker

Hi there rosie99,
Thank you for your swift reply, the birth and death records you have found seem to be correct, so I think I shall order the two certificates to confirm. The 1911 census states Sarah Elizabeth Davies(nee Crockett) had had up to then 12 children, 6 survived and 6 passed away. You are correct about Mary Hannah Davies being her sister, she was my great grandmother, I do remember meeting her as a young child, she died in 1974 aged about 98 I think. Thanks again for you help, I am
very grateful.
                    Kind Regards, David
Parker

Yes I agree, the 1911 census is always interesting because it reveals the total amount of births up to then and how many survived and how many passed away. I know my gran lost 2 children very young.
I'm one of seven but luckily in modern times we all survived,
                                                                                           Regards
