Ok I have found out why! I need to scan it in apparently then reduce the size! Eek.... Will have to get myself to a library next week to use a scanner as I was taking the photograph trying to attach it.

Just reduce it in size until it's just under 500Kb. there shouldn't be any need to re-scan.
Give it a unique name as all filenames are stored & you can't have 2 the same.

 Hawick News 13th July 1917

'Telfer: Previously reported wounded and missing, now officially reported killed in action on 21st April, Private James Telfer, KOSB, age 24, fourth son of William and Helen Telfer, Langhaugh Walls, Bonchester Bridge, and late of Jardinefield, Jedburgh. Sadly missed.'

This site also says that his brother George was killed on 25th April 1918, Belgium.

And yet on Army Register of Soldiers Effects, it says that George Telfer killed on 25th April 1918, his father is George. ???
