It appears George Pearce Marrack had a younger brother named Richard John Marrack, baptised the same day:

That is intriguing in the light of the gravestone information (see earlier post) where  Mary Forbes Olivia LANDELLS seems to have been married to George in Australia but later to another Marrack.

Richard Thornton MARRACK -  ???

The third brother Melvel Paul (shown in those Cornwall Parish Records) is "reflected" as an Australian (Victorian) birth record  -

MARRACK, Melville Geo Seigismund
Father:  George Pierce   Mother:  Mary Forbes Olivia
Reg # 1857/12093
birth registered in  SANDHURST  (Bendigo, Victoria)

(he would be the nephew of Melvel Paul MARRACK, brother of George Pearce MARRACK)

Victorian BDM show Melville Paul MARRACK as married to   Eliza REA and 6 children born there between 1855 and 1863.

Everyone in the Victorian goldfields?

It appears Melvel/Melville (the elder) ended up in Sydney: http://www.opc-cornwall.org/Resc/obits/marrack_melville.htm

My sense is that George Pearce and Richard Thornton are same person.  The question would be why he changes his name, and why he chose the first name of his brother?

You wouldn't think that she had married a Marrack brother, Richard John?

The marriage of Richard John appears to be on this page: http://west-penwith.org.uk/paulmarh.htm

Based on his wife's name he appears to be buried in Anfield: http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ormandy/anfieldc9.html

I see the name Melville pops up in the children.

I'm not sure if you are still interested in California information, but...

The following link appears to have a later article (21 September 1901) about the death of Rev. R. T. Marrack.  In it, it states his death was ruled accidental:

(Apologies if this was previously mentioned)

If you are interested in any California records/information, please let me know and I can have a look around.  Kind regards, Lisa

Possibly your Cecil?

6 June 1911 newspaper article about the death of Rev. Cecil Marrack.
The article includes a photograph of Rev. Cecil Marrack.

You may have seen this, but it seems G P Marrack may have been involved in some financial irregularities:

Perhaps new life in America + new career as a Methodist minister = new name?
