Edna K Holgate Grimsby

I'm hoping to find some information please about my grandmother
My mum Shirley was born in Grimsby April 1937 and her mother was Edna Kathleen Holgate. Mum was adopted in October 1937 and all we have is a letter her mother wrote to my mum's adoptive mother formally handing her over together with a photograph of Edna.
We are not sure of how old her mother was when mum was born
I looked on FreeBMD and found an Edna K Holgate listed as being born 1913 (assuming that is her?) but don't know how to find any further information about her, whether she married, had other children etc
I understand that any descendents who may still be alive cannot be disclosed.

Have you tiried the 1939 Register, the Electoral Rolls and looked for a possible marriage and/or death?

The (free) GRO online index shows that Mar qtr 1913 registration is of Edna Kathleen Holgate, mother's maiden name Sanderson (Glanford Brigg).

So that looks promising, both as to name and to location.  She'd have been born late 1912 or in the first three months of 1913.

I have given you the mother's maiden name of Sanderson associated with that birth registration at reply #2.

The following couple look promising as possible parents:

Charles Dudley Holgate
Lily Sanderson

Married in Sheffield district, Dec qtr 1907.

The free 1911 census index suggests they settled in Glanford Brigg district, where as we have seen Edna's birth was registered in 1913.

I think she married William A Pearson in Jun qtr 1940 (West Ham). FreeBMD again.

Edna Kathleen Pearson born 16 December 1912, death registration Boston, Lincs, Feb 1987.
