Joseph and Emma Rita are on the electoral roll in 41 and 43  and 49 at Cardross, Guildford Street, which ties in with the newspaper report of him falling down the ships stairs in 42. His occupation is a wardsman.
They are then at Thynne Ave in 54 and 58 and he is now a motor trimmer.

Someone in this thread advised there was a marriage between Joseph and Emma Scott in 39, which is where I got the surname.
How can I apply to get the wedding certificate sent to me please? I'm in England.

Yes the Giles are a big catholic family! Joseph had 11 surviving siblings.
I wonder why he moved to NSW?

Can't see him on the nominal AIF Roll.
The enlistment acceptance notice was 16th Nov 1941
And the accident April 1942.

About 6 months between :-\

As further connection between the mother of Clarence SCOTT and the man Joseph GILES, here is an engagement notice which describes Mrs GILES  ........ and her address as Guildford Street, Kelvin Grove.1940

Brilliant! Is it best to get the Certificate or the Image? Will both be downloadable immediately?  xx

I still don't get this!  Clarence Scott was born in 1914, and I believe his mother to be the Emma Rita Lewis b 1881 to Thomas Lewis and Annie Jane McCrorey.  If this Emma Rita then married 'my' Joseph Giles in 1939 it would make her some 28 years older than him....and if you look at the photo there isn't that age difference!......

As soon as I get the marriage cert all will be revealed!  Stand by....!

I'm hoping it has her age, as my first thought when I saw the photo was that she looked like she could be his mother.  ;)

I think you get the cert unless only the image is available. I've had both and yes, downloaded immediately after purchase.

When you say "nothing" what exactly do you mean?
What was on your screen?

Did you complete this onscreen (typical) requirement when you clicked download?

Then scroll down a little to "view"
