The 7th Jan 1872 New Shildon  death/burial has him as 72 and dying of smallpox - is that what you have?

It looks as if Michael is living with daughter Catherine and her husband, Thomas Robinson*,  in 1871 in Shildon. Listed as Mitchell Watson. He's recorded as a friend of Thomas but Catherine looks of the correct age.
