James Graves and Mary Fitch marriage
« on: Tuesday 25 July 17 19:29 BST (UK) »
Hello,

James was born in 1804, in Radwinter. Mary was born in 1816, also in Radwinter. They would have married before 1846, most likely in Radwinter.

I would appreciate any information, parentage or anything,

Thanks,

Adam

You have a discrepancy. The title says James Graves yet the text in the first post says Charles.

If James is correct then

Name James Graves
Residence Place: Radwinter, Essex, England
Christening Date: 11 May 1803
Christening Place: Radwinter, Essex, England
Father's Name: James Graves
Mother's Name: Mary
When and where did they die ?

Joseph Dodd born 1847 Corbridge, Northumberland  and Isabella Dodd (nee Thirwell) born 1848 Allendale, Northumberland. In 1911  they were living at Leadgate, Durham.

(As well as there being several people of these names around the surname is sometimes given as Dodds)

Sorry, Charles was their son. I always get the two confused. Thanks for the information.

Thanks. That must be the one. Fitch was given on my ancestor's birth record in 1846, but who knows how these things get onto records.

It is possible you picked the wrong Charles Graves

GRAVES, CHARLES     MMN FITCH

When and where did they die ?

New GRO index
Charles Graves registered 1845 Saffron Walden has mothers maiden name as HALLS that matches parents James and Mary.
There is another Charles Graves registered 1846 Saffron Walden mothers maiden name FITCH

Which one is yours, if its FITCH then James and Mary quoted are not his parents.

I'm honestly not sure. It could be either of them now I see it. I'll look at the mother's names for his siblings.
