there is a Selina O'Toole marrying in 1939 -also in Crosby - to a Bryan Sutcliffe - they have one son b 1844 -

That marriage was 1936 - not 1939 and she was Selina P O'Toole

Over a year since I posted this. With the 1939 register on Ancestry now, I've found them.  I revisited it this week as I'm writing the whole family up for other family members.

I found them by looking for Bryan Sutcliffe. He's listed as Brian, but living with Patricia S Sutcliffe and Bridget M O'Toole. Selina's second name was Patricia. So Selina P as noted previously.  In Crosby. Brian was a hotel barman.

James died in 1940 in the British American Hospital in Valparais, He was in the merchant navy. Had an address still in Woodland Rd, number 2
