What about Armstrong? With a name like "Armstrong" you would have thought him easier to find, admittedly.

I edited my last post- I don't like double posting and nobody had replied when I was typing :)

He was easy to find but not his children, I only found a daughter Eleanor born 1809 who is in my line.

Looking at the Durham Bishop Transcript images, the christening of Thomas 1808 says "2nd son of Armstrong Orwin, smith of Gosforth, Northumberland by his wife Jane, daughter of John Douglas pitman of Tansfield, Durham."

Tickettyboo probably didn't notice your post and went off finding information from the original query. I'm sure no offence was meant.

~

I've had that problem before ADR, it's so frustrating! I have one set of children christened at once so first couple might not have been baptised at all and I'll never know who they were!

I just checked the BT and both John and Thomas say "2nd son" so we already know something has gone awry with the numbers!

So we've got marriage 1797, John 1803, Thomas 1807, Eleanor 1809 so far. Plenty of room for more children.

Because sometimes (often) I make mistakes :-) Apologies if I offended you, it wasn't intentional.
