How do you know he was born in Gilcrux?  I can't see any 1851 entry for him.
Where did you get his birthyear from?

There is one in Carlisle aged 47 in 1851. Wife at that time was called Sarah.

Aged 67 in 1871 (in Keswick, born "Carlisle")

Daughter called Margaret in each case.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi thank you for your quick response. On his marriage record 30 June 1822 he was from the parish of Gilcrux. According to a researcher in the Cumbria Record Office he would have probably been born there but parish record's for that period were not available. Hope this helps.

Of this parish (OTP) - does not necessarily mean he was born in that parish - just that he satisfied the short residential qualifying time required to enable him to marry there (approx 3wks)

A JOHN Craig was a Witness to the 1822 Marriage, a Brother/Father possibly.

There is also a ISAAC Craig who married Isabella SIM 8 Nov 1826 same Church.

Both on FreeREG

Joseph/Elizabeth christened in Gilcrux according to Familysearch.Org;
ANN 1822
ELIZABETH 1824
THOMAS 1825
JOHN 1826
ESTHER 1828
JACKSON and RICHARD 1830
JOSEPH 1833
ISAAC 1834**
Then at Castle Sowerby;
WILLIAM 1836
EZEKIEL 1838

So possible the Isaac who married 1826 was a Brother as Joseph/Elizabeth name a Son Isaac.

As you know 1841 we have;
Joe Craigg         35
Elizabeth Craigg   35
Ann Craigg   15
Elizabeth Craigg   15
Thos Craigg   14
John Craigg   13
Esther Craigg   12
Jackson Craigg   11
Richard Craigg   10
Jos Craigg          8
Isaac Craigg   6
William Craigg   4
Ezekiel Craigg   2
David Craigg   1 mth

1851 Elizabeth is down as Married but Joseph is not there to establish a pob for him.
Jackson Craig   21
Elizabeth Craig   51
Elizabeth Craig   24
William Craig   13
Ezekiel Craig   11
David Craig   9

1851 in Maryport we have;
Isaac Crag, 48, born 1803 Alston Moor
Isabella Crag, 47
Thomas Crag, 18
Grace Crag, 10
Henry Crag, 8

1841 Census
Isaac Craig, 35
Isabella Craig, 35
Mary Craig   75**
Thomas Craig, 5
Grace Craig, 1

F/S has a ISAAC Craig Baptised 1 July 1804 Penrith to THOMAS/MARY

+ another 1809 Garrigill to EZEKIAL Graig and Isabella CALVERT

So I think this one is not yours as a Mary Craig is in the 1841 Census it is likely he the Son of Thomas/Mary.

So not related to your Joseph I dont think.
