David Anderson Birthplace
« on: Thursday 27 July 17 20:25 BST (UK) »
In the 1871 census transcription David's birthplace is given as Hingham, Ayrshire.
Is there such a place?

Is it the same in 1861 and 1881?  Have you viewed the original or just the transcript?  Could be a transcription error

What do you know about his parentage?  1861 has 3 entries in age range - birthplaces Kilwinning, Newton and Dalrymple

Looks like it may/should be Dreghorn?

As Carole suggests, the original should clarify.

This birth record of his son Andrew and the 1871 census is all we have for David.

Have you looked for the 1859 marriage for David & Elizabeth to establish his parents names
